One nonprofit organization, one shared purpose: strengthening donation and serving 19 million Texans across 145 counties.
Gift of Life Alliance was announced on October 1, 2026 as a unified nonprofit organ procurement organization following a merger approved by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). GOLA brings together approximately 700 employees to serve 19 million Texans across 145 counties, with 390 hospital partners. Patient safety, public trust, and collaboration with hospitals, healthcare professionals, transplant centers, donor families, and communities are at the heart of its work.
“Today is about much more than two organizations coming together,” said GOLA President and Chief Executive Officer Brad Adams. “It is about strengthening the donation system across Texas, putting patient safety and public trust at the heart of everything we do and ultimately honoring the generosity of donors and donor families whose selfless gifts make life possible.”
Our work puts patient safety, public trust, and the generosity of donors and donor families at its center. The initial transition focuses on continuity: hospitals and other partners continue to receive support from existing teams as integration continues over the coming months.
“Every donation story begins with a donor and a family making an extraordinary decision during an incredibly difficult moment,” said GOLA Chief Strategy Officer Joe Nespral. “We have a deep responsibility to care for those families with compassion, to honor the wishes of their loved ones, and to protect the safety and dignity of every patient throughout the donation process. It is through that care and commitment that we hope to honor their generosity and continue to build trust in donation.”
